By accessing or using The Smart Prepper website (thesmartprepper.com), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms apply to all visitors, subscribers, and account users.

What we provide

The Smart Prepper is an independent preparedness publication and planning platform. We provide original editorial guides, interactive planning tools, checklists, gear comparisons, and resources for educational and planning purposes. Our content is designed to help you make informed decisions about household preparedness — it is not professional advice and it is not a substitute for official emergency guidance.

No emergency-service relationship

This site does not replace emergency services. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. Our tools and guides are for planning, not real-time emergency decision-making. We do not monitor live emergencies and cannot dispatch help. Always follow guidance from Ready.gov, NOAA, the CDC, and your local officials during an actual event.

Content is for planning, not professional advice

• Health and medical. Articles on first aid, medications, and food safety are general guidance. They are not medical advice. Always consult a qualified clinician for medical decisions, medication dosing, and treatment.
• Food safety. Date arithmetic and rotation guidance cannot certify food safety. When in doubt, throw it out. Follow USDA and FDA guidance.
• Electrical and power. Power and battery planning tools are estimates, not electrical design. Consult a qualified electrician for installations.

Your use of tools and data

Interactive tools — the prep plan, kit builder, pantry tracker, water planner, and others — store data locally in your browser by default. You are responsible for the information you enter. Do not enter sensitive personal data (full Social Security numbers, full medical records) into tools that store locally. If you connect an account, your plans sync to your private profile and are protected by your login.

You may export, print, or download your plans for personal use. You may not redistribute our original content, checklists, or tools commercially without permission.

Intellectual property

Original content on The Smart Prepper — including articles, checklists, guides, tool logic, and design — is our intellectual property. You may read, print, and use it for personal, non-commercial preparedness planning. You may not reproduce, republish, or commercially distribute our content without written permission. Product names and brands referenced in buying guides belong to their respective owners.

User conduct

You agree not to misuse the site, including by attempting to gain unauthorized access, introducing malware, scraping content at scale, or using the contact forms to send abusive or fraudulent communications. We may block access for abuse.
